No need to blow a perfectly good piece of evidence out of the water, my friend! The oldest tree ever discovered, the bristle cone pine specimen, is 5,100 years old, not 7,000. So it's evidence FOR creation, not against it.

Sir:
In reference to my article on the age of the Earth at http://www.barr-family.com/godsword/old.htm where the dating method of using tree rings to determine age is spoken of.

Answer:
And I agree that there is strong evidence for creation, but there seems to be some sort of confusion here about my article on the age of the earth, and specifically about the tree ring dating of the "Bristle Cone Pine". The entire article is against the way that man interprets the age of objects, showing the many problems with the way that man obtains these dates, and is in support for the 6,000 year age of the Earth, as shown in the Bible, which IS God's Word, the very creator of this Earth..

You may note when you read my article again, that I am showing that there is a problem with their claims of age by using the tree rings. Just before the date given of 7,000 years is the word "supposedly", thus showing that "I" am not claiming this age for the tree, but that others are claiming this age, and that there is a problem with their claims.

The facts are that it is claimed by some on the internet, and also in so called science, that what they are calling the oldest living plant, the Bristle cone pine tree, that has been named "Methuselah", which is growing at the 9,000 foot altitude level on the White Mountains of California, is at least 4700 years old, which is within the approximate 6,000 year age of the Earth. But with some others claiming that it is 9,000 years old.

As you read to the end of the Tree Ring Dating section, we see that the age of 7,000 + years for the tree comes not from the tree rings itself but rather from Radiocarbon dating, which is inaccurate itself.

May You continue to search for God's Truth
