Dear Rev. Barr
I have read your article on mandrakes. Thank you for your informative research.
I have read another article about mandrakes and it is stated that mandrake is common plant found in Israel in present days. Do you have any idea about this? If mandrake is so common, how come is its legendary? I am looking forward to your opinions.

Answer:
My research showed that the mandrake plant was available from several companies in the USA (among many other places around the world) where it is sold in power and/or coarsely ground, for the behind the scenes drug trade.
Thank You for your interest.

Yes, this plant is found all over Europe and the Middle East. It was cultivated for over a thousand years as well as being found in the wild.
If mandrake is so common, how come is its legendary?
While the Mandrake has many legends tied to this plant, The mandrake is not as legendary or as rare as you suppose. And while it is true that many persons have not heard of it, that is only because those persons are not into drugs and witchcraft where it is mostly used today.
